As we continue to improve our water system, we will now perform systematic water leak detection using listening devices at the main water shut-off valves and residential shut-off valves (outside near the road), etc. You may experience a temporary water outage or low pressure while they conduct the test at each shut-off location.
During the leak testing, we will update our water system map with GPS coordinates for all water mains,/shut off valves/curb stops/meter pits, and hydrants.
Due to the size of our water system, this may occur in a few phases. The first phase is planned for Monday, April 6th.
Weather permitting, an employee of the SD Association of Rural Water Systems will be on site on Monday, April 6th. His truck is clearly marked with the company name so residents can identify who is working in the area. Al Sage, our certified water operator, will also be involved in the project.
We appreciate your cooperation on this project.
Thank you,

This is a good time for all homeowners to consider insurance that covers both your water and sewer line. Should a water or sewer line of yours break, it can cost upward of several thousand dollars for repair. There are several companies that provide this type of coverage. One of these is HomeServe. https://www.homeserve.com/
