Water Conservation Notice
This is a reminder that water conservation measures will begin on Tuesday, July 7, at 8:00 a.m. while the existing well pump is removed and a new pump is installed.
The installation is expected to take 2–3 days. During this time, we will not be able to pump water into the distribution system. On Monday evening, both water towers will be filled to capacity, and the water stored in those towers will be our only water supply until the new pump is operational.
It is extremely important that everyone conserves water. If the water towers are depleted before the new equipment is online, there will be no water available for any purpose until pumping can resume.
To help conserve water, please:
Complete all laundry on Monday, if possible.
Do not water lawns or gardens beginning Tuesday at 7:00 a.m. until the restrictions are lifted.
Fill your bathtub before Tuesday morning and use that water to flush toilets, if needed.
Keep bottled drinking water on hand for your household.
Your cooperation is essential to ensure there is enough water available for the entire community during this temporary interruption. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this necessary upgrade to improve the reliability of our water system.
A water leak was discovered this weekend at the end of Virginia Street. Repair work will begin Monday morning (July 6th). During this time, the water main will be shut off from the Kary Street/Virginia Lane intersection to the west end of Virginia Lane. We expect this to take several hours to fix. This only affects homes west of Kary Street on Virginia and Kary Street.
The new road ordinances take effect May 10th, 2022. Click on the Sanitation/Paving tab on top and then go to Road Ordinance to learn more about them.
As a reminder during the winter, no parking is allowed on any street within the Weston heights Subdivision once a winter storm advisor, blizzard advisor or a blizzard warning has been announced by the U.S. Weather service for the Rapid City area. A violation of this ordinance is punishable by a class A fine. ($50) Per Ordinance #1, 2.3
This is a good time for all homeowners to consider insurance that covers both your water and sewer line. Should a water or sewer line of yours break, it can cost upward of several thousand dollars for repair. There are several companies that provide this type of coverage. One of these is HomeServe. https://www.homeserve.com/
